Chicago man in court after crashing SUV into East Liverpool home

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio - It was a chase that went through several communities, traveled 13 miles, involved three police agencies, and ended when the SUV crashed into an East Liverpool home.
The chase began shortly before 1:00 PM on Saturday in Lisbon when an Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper pulled over an SUV allegedly traveling more than 90 miles an hour in a 70 mile per hour zone. But the driver quickly changed his mind and sped away. Prompting a high speed chase through Columbiana County.
Authorities identify the driver as George Henry, II formerly of Chicago. Police say he was traveling southbound on State Route 11 in Lisbon, but the traffic stop was short lived.
Sergeant Barry Thompson is a supervisor with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Post in Lisbon, "As he was pulling the vehicle over it did initially stop. After it stopped on the berm then it continued southbound, the speeds reached a little over 100 miles per hour during the pursuit."
The speeding car traveled into East Liverpool, lost control, hit a fire hydrant and drove into the bedroom of a home on Wyoming Avenue. Police say it's a miracle no one was hurt or killed, but the driver of the vehicle still allegedly tried to make a run for it.
"After it had stopped the driver exited the vehicle, ran through the house and then as he came back out of the house he was ordered to the ground and at that time he did comply and was placed under arrest," Sergeant Thompson said.
As Henry appeared in court he told the Judge he has a heroin problem, and tried to down play his role in the crime.
"I wasn't driving the car so I want to get the guy that was in the car that was actually driving to confess or whatever," Henry said.
Henry is charged with fleeing and eluding, possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs after heroin was allegedly found in the vehicle.
He remains jailed on a $100,000 cash bond.
