WARREN, Ohio - A Warren man has pleaded guilty to charges of kidnapping a Howland mother and daughter.

Chad Summers, 49, has been sentenced to 8 years in prison on charges of kidnapping, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary.

Summers was charged with holding a woman and her daughter hostage at knife-point while in her Howland home.

The victim said Summers told her daughter that she was “going to watch her mother die.”

Summers was taken into custody by Howland Township Police.

Summers originally pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, but was found competent to stand trial.

He was sentenced under Judge Andrew Logan at the Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas.
