ASHTABULA, Ohio (AP) - Investigators say a man and woman were killed in an apparent bulldozer accident in far northeast Ohio, and they're trying to sort out exactly what happened.

The Ashtabula County sheriff's office says the two died Monday evening along a road in Plymouth Township, roughly 60 miles northeast of Cleveland. The office didn't immediately release details about what happened.

The township fire chief, Bill Strubbe, tells WEWS-TV that it seems something went wrong as the bulldozer was being sold. He says it crashed into a car and hit the man and woman. They died at the scene.

County Sheriff William Johnson tells The Star-Beacon that the situation appears accidental but remains under investigation.
