EAST PALESTINE, Ohio - The winter weather left thousands without Power in Columbiana County Tuesday.

By 6pm there were still about two thousand customers throughout the county without power.
A spokesperson for First Energy says trees and limbs have fallen on individual power lines connecting homes so it may not be until Wednesday morning until all power is restored.

And if you didn't lose your electric you might have lost your phone or cable lines.

Lee Givens of East Palestine, says, "The phone line for the internet was snapped. I came out here and re-ran it and spliced it together. An hour later a semi truck came through and torn everything off the house."

Accumulation averaged about 8-10 inches throughout the county.  Road crews worked around the clock to try and clear all the roads.  No major accidents were reported but we were told quite a few cars found themselves stuck or in ditches.

Larisa Trosky of East Palestine, says, "When we first got up they were pretty covered they were crappy but we took a little ride, got stuck a little bit but we were good."

Many people just stayed home and got busy shoveling, mainly because they weren't able to get out of their driveways if they didn't.

It was a great day to be a kid, though.  Most spent the day sledding or building the biggest snowman they could.  For many it was the first snow day of the year and they made the best of it.
