NILES, Ohio - The Niles Police Department continues to crackdown on All-Terrain Vehicles and dirt bikes driving recklessly and doing wheelies in residential neighborhoods.
Police say they became involved on Memorial Day when residents complained about two ATV's and a dirt bike riding around city streets.
Officers say they spotted the three vehicles and pulled them over in the area of Fenton Street and Summit Avenue.
Off-road vehicles often flock to an area off Summit Avenue known as Honda Hills.
Traffic in and out of the gravel pathway concerns nearby businesses and continues to irritate those living in the surrounding area.
Police say two Newton Falls men and a Howland man were charged with trespassing and riding ATV's on a city street. One man was also arrested on a drug charge.
People caught driving ATV's illegally in Niles face a fine of $50 to $500 dollars and 3 to 30 days in jail.
The city also impounded the vehicles.
The charges come just as the police department announced the return of Shawn Crank to his position as traffic officer for the city.
Police are advising residents with any traffic related problems to call officer Crank at 330-652-9944 extension 5.
