NILES, Ohio - Expansion plans are underway for the Eastwood Mall Complex in Niles. The Cafaro Company says the mall itself won't be getting any bigger, but the area around it will be opened up to new development.

The project is called Enterprise Park at Eastwood. The plans call for 100 acres of undeveloped land north of Eastwood Field to become an all-new commercial community.  Cafaro Co-President, Anthony Cafaro, Jr. says the possibilities are endless.

"Opportunities for health care, residential, hotels,  just any type of business that is looking to locate here in the community.  It's going to be state of the art with a different kind of environment than what's offered anywhere else in the Mahoning Valley," said Cafaro.

Enterprise Park will have designed green space and be friendly to the environment. 
 
"What we're hoping for in the design of Enterprise Park is to be a truly sustainable environment with green space, with outdoor amenities.  We're fortunate to a have a natural water course with Mosquito Creek which will be part of the development," Cafaro added.
 
The company says the development will be done in phases over several years. The head of the regional chamber says the project will be an added asset to the Youngstown-Warren region.

"The video that shows how it might look is very impressive, very attractive, and very appealing to the general public and to the business community," said Chamber President Tom Humphries.
  
Cafaro also put to rest rumors about other additions to Eastwood Mall.  "We're not in the process of developing a water park,  nor are we considering adding a casino at Eastwood Mall," said Cafaro.
