YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - An annual celebrity auction took place at the Covelli Centre Thursday night, featuring former 49ers, all to raise money for the Edward DeBartolo scholarship foundation.

This past spring, about $120,000 worth of scholarships were given throughout the Mahoning Valley.

The action is one of the biggest fundraisers the foundation has to offer.

“Everything that we have or my Uncle has started here in Youngstown, Ohio, with my Grandfather,” said 49ers CEO Jed York. “And to be able to find kids that, you know, had a tough upbringing, need help getting a college education. We always want to continue doing that. We want to find kids that can really make their community a better place.”

This is the dinner and auction’s 19th year serving the Valley.
