STRUTHERS, Ohio - The Struthers football program did not turn the ball over with a fumble all of 2016.

That's one streak Coach Curt Kuntz wants to stay intact. "You're going to win a lot of games that way," stated the veteran coach. "I don't expect another perfect season like that, but if we can limit our turnovers, I think we'll be in a lot of games in the fourth quarter."

With six returners on each side of the ball, the Wildcats should be in every game.

J.D Hall takes over at quarterback but is a student of the game. "I feel very comfortable with J.D," said Kuntz. "He has 4.0-grade point average, he'll be the valedictorian by the time he graduates in two years and played a lot of football as a freshman."

The Wildcats expect to feature Willie Mitchell in all aspects on offense. The veteran expects to be the work horse on that side of the ball

On the offensive line, it starts with A.J. Iarussi and Jimmy Stefanski, "They are all state players and they'll be noticed by the opposing coaches, if not already," said Kuntz.

Defensively, the Wildcats gave up only 21 points all season. "Without a doubt, if you want to win a championship its starts on defense and Coach John Bayuk did a great job last year and we have a lot of guys coming back," Kuntz said.

The Wildcats open their season against Liberty.
