Target store officials have announced they plan to hire 100,000 workers for the holiday shopping season.

The retail chain says it is seeking holiday employees to help shoppers at its 1,816 stores across the country or to fill online orders.

The company also plans to hire 4,500 people at its distribution and fulfillment centers to replenish products to stores and fulfill digital sales throughout the season.

Target says it offers employees competitive wages and a ten percent discount on merchandise.

The company says it plans to host hiring events at all stores nationwide between 10 am and 6 pm from Friday, Oct. 13 through Sunday, Oct. 15.

Applicants will be interviewed on-the-spot and could receive a conditional job offer during the weekend events, according to the company.
