Man found dead in reservoir in Mahoning Twp. identified
A man who was found dead in a wooded, swampy area in Mahoning Township Monday afternoon has been identified.
MAHONING TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A man who was found dead in a wooded, swampy area in Mahoning Township Monday afternoon has been identified.
Pennsylvania State Police said 91-year-old John Pezzuolo of Hillsville was found unresponsive in a water reservoir below an embankment.
The swamp area is located near Pezzuolo's home on West State Street which is near the border of Mahoning County.
The Mahoning Township Water Rescue Team responded around 2:30 p.m. to the area and removed Pezzuolo from the reservoir.
Medics on the scene tried to revive Pezzuolo, however, they were unsuccessful after several attempts and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said no foul play is suspected.
His cause of death is still under investigation as officials wait for autopsy results.
