NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - A Shenango Valley church is stepping forward to help the Hickory High School community deal with grief over the loss of two young lives.
Sixteen-year-old Alexis Myers and 15-year-old Danielle Nelson died in a crash along Interstate 80 last week. They were two of four teens in the car when their SUV lost control and was hit by a tractor-trailer Sunday, February 10th as they were heading to a faith-based program at Grove City College.
The New Life Baptist Church has announced a Community Grief Support Day on Saturday 23, 2019 from noon until 2 pm.
Counselors will speak for about an hour on the stages of grief, where to look for help for students and parents, pressing into God during times of sorrow, and a new Grief Share class specifically for people affected by this tragedy.
Following that, counselors will be available to talk to anyone who would like to.
The support day is free. The church says everyone from Mercer or Lawrence counties is invited.
