CANFIELD, Ohio - Students at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center are being evacuated after several anonymous phone calls to the school Wednesday morning.

School marketing director Jessica Cene tells 21 News the calls came in before 10 am Wednesday.

Officials say the school received three phone calls from someone threatening to "shoot it up".  Shortly after a fourth anonymous phone call, this time threatening that there was a bomb involved, was placed to the school.

Officials are still working to determine where those calls were made from.

Canfield Police, deputies from the Mahoning County Sheriff's Office, and the Canfield Fire Department are on the scene.

The entrances to the school have been blocked off by investigators.

Canfield police tell 21 News that every student is being patted down and searched as they leave.

Cene tells 21 News that students are going to be evacuated throughout the next few hours.

Students who usually ride buses from their home school district to MCCTC will be bused back to their districts.

Cene says students who drive to MCCTC every morning will be permitted to drive their cars home.

Students who receive rides from parents or other family members will be taken to the OLD North Church on Herbert Road. Parents are asked to go directly to the church to pick up their students.

Cene stresses that no parents will be permitted on the campus, as investigators continue to look into the situation.

According to Cene, the evacuation process is expected to take several hours as they dismiss students class by class.

Cene also stressed that all students are safe and accounted for at this point and that security measures are being taken as a precaution.

Evening classes at the campus have been canceled for Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday marks the 7th anniversary of a deadly school shooting in Chardon, Ohio.
