Warren OBGYN utilizing cutting edge fat loss technology
A Warren OBGYN says the Valley's women don't have to think they have to travel out of the area to feel better about the way they look.

WARREN, Ohio - A Warren OBGYN says the Valley's women don't have to think they have to travel out of the area to feel better about the way they look.
Dr. Amine Abdul-Aal says being confident is a kickstarter to making healthier decisions- that's why he says he chose to become the only doctor in the area using the Zerona Z6 technology.
Dr. Abdul-Aal explained that the Zerona Z6 is a cool light laser that specifically targets fat cells in the body.
"It actually transmits light at 635 nanometers per second. Which means basically it does not transmit too much under the skin," he explained.
The laser stimulates enzymes that cause the fat cell to release the fat stores inside, causing them to shrink.
"What we're trying to do is we're trying to empty the fat cells, those fat molecules have to have somewhere to go and they're going to go through the lymphatic system to the liver for processing, from the liver to the kidneys for excretion, so literally we pee the fat away," Dr. Abdul-Aal explains.
He continued, saying, "Within five minutes those fat cells start to empty and within 18 minutes those fat cells are empty."
The difference between the Zerona Z6 and other "cool" fat loss technology comes down to an important differentiation.
According to Dr. Abdul-Aal, each person is born with a certain number of fat cells. Over the course of our lives, each individual cell can grow over a thousand times it's size.
Some "cool" technologies eliminate, or kill, a number of fat cells. However, Dr. Abdul-Aal says that's not a good procedure, since the fat cells are necessary.
"You know all of us we always hate the fat cells, because you know they don't make us look good. But fat cells are extremely important, fat cells actually have an endocrine function," he explains. "you know when we are born we have to grow, we have to eat different things. We have to eat literally proteins, sugars, and fats. The proteins we use as our building blocks to the cells. the sugars is our main source of energy. The fat is needed for our hormones and our enzymes and so and so."
"So that fat cell that we hate actually saves our lives. it takes all the fat from circulation and stores it. And what happens to it, it grows, next day the same thing happens. And actually each fat cell can grow to almost a thousand times its shape," Dr. Abdul-Aal said.
Which is why he says the Zerona Z6 uses technology to empty the cell- causing it to shrink, without killing it. Dr. Abdul-Aal says that without the fat cells, certain fats would remain in our blood stream and cause issues like high blood pressure and others.
Dr. Abdul-Aal explains that the light targets the upper layers of fat.
"Those light waves do not penetrate too deep. All they do is penetrate the upper portion of the fat. So this is not intended to treat fat around your heart, its not intended to treat fat around the blood vessels inside, its intended to treat the cosmetic appearance of the patient," he said.
In addition to being less invasive than other cosmetic procedures, Dr. Abdul-Aal says it's risk free.
"It is designed to basically empty the fat cells that are superficial. So if somebody is looking at losing some inches, having some hard areas that are, cannot go away after some exercise, after doing crunches and all these things.," Dr. Abdul-Aal said. "You know like what happens after having a baby. This is the perfect technology for them because it really is painless. It comes in and its done in 20 minutes. And it targets the areas that are hard to reach in any other way."
He continued saying, "You can't see any changes in the skin, you can't see any kind of marking, its absolutely a painless procedure to do."
Dr. Abdul-Aal says a crucial part is making sure that patients have the right expectations, noting that there are limits to what can be done.
For his office, patients must not be pregnant, lactating, or have a pacemaker. In addition, he says they typically use the Zerona Z6 on patients who have a Body Mass index of 25% to 35%.
In addition, Dr. Abdul-Aal say he sets guidelines for those looking to use the Zerona Z6- they must be willing to workout at least a half an hour a day (a brisk walk is fine), drink at least 60 mL of water a day, and cut out alcohol and wine.
But he notes that losing more than 3 inches in two weeks time can be the confidence boost that many people need to keep going on their healthy journey.
"You know we start exercising, we start dieting and eating less and exercising more, it takes time and everybody knows that when you start exercising you're not going to get in shape in a month or two. And that's what happens we exercise for two weeks and then we don't see any results we tend to stop," he said.
Dr. Abdul-Aal continued, "It's self confidence, its amazing what it does for a patient's self confidence. And when you're confident you can do anything."
He said, "We would like to see somebody motivated, somebody who is willing to exercise, and not rely on this one as the magic pill because it is not."
