ASHTABULA, Ohio - Officials at the Kent State University Ashtabula Campus notified students and staff that they have lifted a temporary lockdown imposed due to police activity in the area.

The university's Facebook page issued a Flash Alert just after 8:30 advising commuters to check for updates before traveling to campus.

An update posted just after 9:30 am announced that the lockdown was lifted.

A dispatcher for the Ashtabula Police Department said she could not release information about the incident that prompted the lockdown.
