COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State University held a grand opening on Tuesday to celebrate the opening of a new addition to their athletic department.

The Covelli Center is a competition space for six sports that is expected to hold over 50 competitions a year.

According to the release, the facility was funded completely through private donations.

Caryn and Sam Covelli donated $10 million of the $48.9 million used to complete the project.

Construction on the 100,000 square foot facility began in September 2017.

The release says the arena holds 3,700 people and includes coach's offices, locker rooms, a training area and meeting spaces.
