The Trumbull County Coroner says an autopsy will be conducted in Cleveland on the body of a man found in a car that crashed into a house in Warren early Friday.

Just before 1 a.m., dispatchers were told of shots being fired in the area of Saratoga Street SW and Ferndale Ave. SW.

Officers found broken glass and a shell casing in the area of the shooting.

Three minutes later police were told that a car had plowed through the side of a house less than a mile-and-a-half away on Tod Avenue SW near Palmyra Road.

According to a 911 report, the car involved in the crash was linked to the shooting on Ferndale.

When officers arrived at the crash, the front end of the car was inside the home. Smoke was coming from the car

The man driving the car, 37-year-old Khalef Freeman was dead.

A passenger in the car was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital. The victim's name or condition has not been released.

Police are still investigating.
