Poland defeats Perry, advances to State Semifinal game

The Poland Bulldogs are on their way to the state playoffs, following a 17-13 win on Saturday, over the Perry Pirates at Austintown Fitch High School.
With the win, the Bulldogs have won ten consecutive games, dating back to week three of the regular season.
After Perry scored first to make the score 7-0 in the first half, Poland came right back to tie the game with a Jack Fulton quarterback sneak for a touchdown. From there, the Bulldogs captured the lead as Joshua Alessi capped a 10-play, 49-yard drive with a touchdown, to put Poland up 14-7.
The score remained the same at the start of the 4th quarter. After the Pirates mishandled a snap, Poland took over in Perry territory and came away with points off the foot of Mikey Kushner, who drilled a 37-yard field goal pushing Poland's lead to 17-7.
Perry scored a touchdown with five seconds remaining in the game to make the final score 17-13.
The Bulldogs will play Newark Licking Valley next Saturday, November 30th (location TBD).
