YSU makes mark on national 'best of' lists

YOUNGSTOWN -
Youngstown State University's academic programs in computer science, public health, criminal justice, healthcare administration, and business, as well as the university's recycling efforts, are included on several national "best of" lists for 2019.
Online Schools Report included YSU on its list of the nation's 15 Best Online Public Health Degrees.
The list is based on student satisfaction, admission rate, online presence, popularity, department size, and median debt.
ComputerTrainingSchools.com ranks YSU number 2 of the best computer science and IT schools in Ohio.
The study, based on data from the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics and College Scorecard, looked at factors like tuition, graduation rate, the number of related tech programs, and programs awarded via distance education.
Intelligent.com included three YSU academic programs among its top online degrees nationwide, a master's in Criminal Justice ranked 13th, master's in Healthcare Administration ranked 16th, and master's in Business Administration ranked 36th.

Also, Great Value Colleges ranked YSU's seventh in its list of America's 50 Top Colleges With The Best Recycling Programs.
YSU was chosen for its commitment to developing an efficient campus-wide recycling program while continuing to strive to provide students with a high-quality education.
YSU is regularly ranked number one in the Buckeye State in the annual Recycle Mania competition, an eight-week national contest to see which colleges and universities reduce, reuse and recycle the most on-campus waste.
In 2018, the YSU diverted 850 tons of recyclable, reusable, and compostable materials from the landfill and achieved a waste diversion rate of 67 percent.
