MAHONING COUNTY, Ohio - Humane agents say charges are pending against a woman that allegedly sexually assaulted a dog.

According to Mary Louk of the Animal Charity Humane Society, this is the first case of bestiality in Mahoning County since the law was passed in 2017.

"It's a second-degree misdemeanor in the state, and we are also going to present some animal cruelty charges that we found while we were investigating," said Louk.

Humane agents with Animal Charity were tipped off to the incident because of a video that was circulating on social media that allegedly showed the woman assaulting the dog.

While searching the home, electronic devices and both animals were seized.

The dogs are being transferred to a rescue agency outside of the area.
