Hollywood, Ca - Sharon native, Tony Butala, and the rest of his singing group known as ‘The Lettermen’ Received their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday. 

The iconic vocal group was honored as part of the 2,689 stars to be added to the famous walk. 

For more than 50 years, The Lettermen, Tony Butala, Donovan Tea, Bobby Poynton, and Rob Gulack, are known for their soft, romantic, harmonic blend of music.

Even though group members have come and gone over the years, the one thing that has remained constant is the vision original member, Tony Butala.

The Lettermen’s debut single came in the summer of 1961 with “The Way You Look Tonight”.

“The Way You Look Tonight”, shot to No. 13 on the Billboard chart and was a departure from the rock ‘n’ roll music of the day.

The Lettermen have over 75 albums, numerous certified gold, and a myriad of hits including “When I Fall In Love”, “Come Back Silly Girl”, “Theme From A Summer Place”, “Goin’ Out Of My Head/Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You”, “Put Your Head On My Shoulder”, “Hurt So Bad”, and “Shangri-La”.

After a career spanning over seven decades Sharon, Pennsylvania native Tony Butala, is semi-retired from performing and enjoying time with his family.

Tony will, from time to time, retake the stage as a surprise guest at many of the concerts.
