CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - The Bed Bath & Beyond store in Boardman is among 800 other stores that have been temporarily closed by the retail chain.

The company announced on Thursday a two-week shutdown of more than 50% of its stores in the U.S. and Canada to help reduce the spread of coronavirus.

The stores will be closed until April 3.

The company says it will continue to operate stores that sell essentials such as health care, personal care, infant care, cleaning supplies, or food and beverages.

A statement from the company says employees will be paid and continue receiving benefits during the shutdown.
