SHARPSVILLE, Pa - The Sharpsville Area School District, on Monday, informed parents that a student is being treated for coronavirus.

A letter from school superintendent John Vannoy states that the student is a patient in Allegheny County.

The letter doesn’t reveal the age or gender of the student but says the student was last in school on March 13, 2020, and had contact with both school buildings.

According to the superintendent, state health officials are working to determine those who the student may have been in contact with.

Vannoy says he’ll share more information when it becomes available.

Sharpsville, like all other schools in Pennsylvania, remains closed under orders from the state.

The latest information from state health officials report one case of coronavirus in Mercer County.
