WARREN, Ohio - Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley is collaborating with Warren City Schools and the Ohio National Guard to distribute food Thursday.

The Traveling Food Pantry will take place at 11 a.m. in front of Mollenkopf Stadium. The line will form by the baseball field on Laird Avenue.

The food distribution includes meat and fresh fruit and vegetables.

A zero contact distribution method will be in effect with cars having their trunk open and clear of all other belongings.

Those attending are not allowed to exit their vehicle.

"Nearly 18,000 people a week in our Valley are seeking emergency food assistance, which a 40 percent increase," said Michael Iberis, Executive Director of Second Harvest Food Bank.

Traveling Food Pantry events are planned for Maplewood High School on June 1 and Beaver Local Schools on June 4.
