The former firefighter sprung into action when he saw a tree had crushed the trailer he was heading to on Ninth Street in Niles.

Inside, a woman in a wheelchair calling for help.

"I BROKE THROUGH THE DOOR AND OPENED IT AND HELPED HER GET INTO HER WHEELCHAIR AND OUT to THE AMBULANCE WHO HAPPENED TO ARRIVE RIGHT AT THAT TIME."

The Weatherfield Fire Chief says the woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Cole called it a miracle, saying it could have been much worse had she been sitting anywhere else.

"THE ROOF WAS CAVED IN BASICALLY ALL AROUND HER. TO THE LEFT YOU COULD SEE THE SUPPORT BEAM WAS BROKEN IT WAS POURING IN WATER, WHERE HER CHAIR WAS THERE WAS A LITTLE BIT OF THE ROOF MISSING. SHE WAS LUCKILY SAFE."
