The Columbiana County Humane Society is asking for patience as the facility has been over whelmed with calls and emails regarding the 193 animals rescued from Alchemy Acres on July 10, according to its Facebook page

Humane agents raided the shelter near Salem reported finding about 70 dogs and nearly 130 cats in unhealthy conditions.

The Humane Society Facebook page is asking that anyone looking to help volunteer or foster the animals to first fill out the volunteer application on their website.

The shelter website says "It takes many people working together to run our shelter, take care of the animals, and raise money to continue operating. Volunteers are needed to work at events and perform animal care and jobs around the shelter."

Anyone interested in volunteering at the shelter or looking to foster should first fill out their volunteer application or dog/cat foster application here or horse/farm animal foster application here.

The Salem Humane Society also asks that you set your charity online on Amazon Smile, and anytime you shop at smile.amazon.com, 0.5 percent of your eligible purchases will be donated to CCHS.
