AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Austintown residents are another step closer to being able to enjoy a cocktail while watching a movie.
Trustees approved the transfer of a liquor permit for the Golden Star Theatre on Mahoning Avenue.
They made the move because the company invested $2.5 million to renovate the former Regal Cinema space and bring another entertainment venue to the Township.
"Their investment in this project and the amount of people they're going to employ, it was only a benefit to the Township," said Trustee Jim Davis.
The renovations include all new seating where patrons can recline.
Most of the work at the theater is done and they're just waiting on the state to give them the okay to reopen.
