Woman accused of leaving child alone in Austintown apartment
A 21-year-old Austintown woman is facing a child endangerment charge after allegedly leaving her child alone for more than an hour.
According to the report, a concerned neighbor contacted the police after hearing a child screaming from a Westchester Drive apartment around 9:50 p.m. Saturday.
Reports say neighbors saw Brittini Furr leave the apartment around 8 p.m.
Officers went into the apartment and found a one-year-old alone in a pack and play with vomit on his leg and bedding. No one was in the apartment, and no monitoring device was present.
Police say Furr and a male came back to the apartment and said they went outside for 15 minutes to play Pokemon Go.
When officers told Furr that it had been more than an hour, reports say she told them that she lost track of time.
Children's services were contacted for the child. Furr was taken to the Mahoning County Jail.
