The Mahoning Valley Scrappers are members of the NYPL  and have been a staple in the Youngstown area since 1999.

The agreement between Major League Baseball and the minor leagues expires Wednesday. MLB wants to cut affiliates from 160 to 120, or four per team.

On Tuesday, MLB announced the Appalachian League is being converted to a college summer league for rising freshman and sophomores.

Scrappers officials have said in the past they're preparing for a 2021 season.
