Canfield couple, company accused of stealing $120K from campus landlord

YOUNGSTOWN - A Canfield woman has been arrested after she and her husband were indicted for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from the owner of some apartments near the YSU Campus.
Erica Stanton, 37, was booked into the Mahoning County jail on Monday.
The Mahoning County Grand Jury last week indicted Stanton and her 55-year-old Husband Kenny Stanton on charges of grand theft.
Investigators say the couple and their company K.E.L. Property Management were hired by a Cleveland area businessman to oversee his properties near the campus.
A year ago, the businessman told Boardman Police that the two were using a credit card he gave them for business expenses to make unauthorized purchases at Walmart and Home Depot.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the couple accrued between $120,000 and $130,000 in authorized expenditures.
The couple will appear before a judge in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to answer the charges.
