BAZETTA TWP., Ohio -
The Bazetta Township Fire Department is making several changes to its operations because of the rapid increase in coronavirus cases.

In order to limit interactions and potential exposure in the community, the department will follow the protocols below.

  • Sending one individual to your door to gather information and ensuring the proper use of facial covering. (If you do not have one for the time of incident; one will be provided. The staff will go through a regimen of questions before entering your location and/or they may ask if you are able to proceed to the ambulance if you are healthy enough to do so.)
  • For businesses that may encounter an alarm alert, you may see that only one member of the crew is approaching your business. The crew asks that you be prepared to meet them at the doorway for a brief interaction before entering or give direction for correction.
"We appreciate your support during this time and ask for your patience with these adjustments. As many are aware, the frontline workers are also getting hit hard during this time. We would ask that you consider what is an emergency and what can be handled differently in order to not overwhelm the 911 system. We never discourage a response, however; there are several topics that can be handled over the phone for direction such as animal complaints, power outages etc. This will allow us to conserve resources for life-threatening issues."
