Football: Boardman Ignazio steps down
He was leader of the Spartans for eight years.

Boardman football coach Joe Ignazio stepped down as the head coach of the Spartans program.
Per Boardman Athletic Director Marco Marinucci, Ignazio submitted his letter of resignation this morning.
“We appreciate all the efforts of Joe Ignazio as a coach who emphasized hard work on the field as well as in the classroom. He was a dedicated coach who also stressed good sportsmanship and character with our Spartan athletes, and we wish him well,” said Athletic Director Marco Marinucci.
In eight season the Spartans were 32-49 with four playoff appearances under Ignazio.
Boardman was 4-4 this season and won their first playoff game over Cuyahoga Falls before being eliminated by Riverside in the second round.
