Youngstown Police investigate deadly crash on South Side

Dispatchers were told that someone was trapped in the wreckage of a car.

YOUNGSTOWN - The Mahoning County Coroner is investigating a deadly crash on Youngstown’s South Side.

The accident happened Tuesday around 1:40 a.m. in the area of Garfield Street and Overland Avenue.

Youngstown police say a driver inside a Ford Fusion was going north on Overland when they skidded off the roadway and struck the front porch of a home on Garfield.

The driver was thrown through the front windshield. The front seat passenger was seated and found dead, according to police.

Officials have not released any other details at this time.
