NILES, Ohio - As the Ohio State Buckeyes continue their chase for a championship, local fans spent time Monday picking up new gear to help cheer them on.

OSU hats, championship t-shirts, hats, sweaters and sweatshirts were popular among shoppers stopping in the Everything Buckeye store inside the Eastwood Mall.

The store in Niles also saw a flurry of orders from Ohio State fans overnight.

"A lot of online orders," Matthew Roscoe said, store employee.

"A lot of people feel more comfortable doing that, they've also been coming in for a lot of Browns stuff, because the Browns are doing so well this year."

Roscoe says the pandemic has fueled higher sales online last year compared to any other year in the past.

Buckeye fans say they can only think about one thing.

"Just beating Alabama and winning another national championship, that would be awesome," Andrew Stevens said, of Warren.

Local fans believe OSU could feed off of the excitement over the Browns victory on Sunday.

Even the most unlikely of fans say they're rooting for the home teams to move ahead to the next rounds.

"I'm a diehard Steelers fan, but I'm also an Ohio State fan," Richie Cancio said. "Pennsylvania and Ohio, because we are so close, I've got to represent them both."
