Salem Regional offers COVID-19 vaccine to seniors 80 and over

Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) will distribute 100 Moderna COVID-19 vaccines on Thursday, January 28 from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m., by appointment only.
The vaccines are prioritized for seniors 80 years of age and older, in accordance with Ohio Governor Mike DeWine's phased approach to immunize those at the highest risk of exposure to the coronavirus.
How To Register:
Because SRMC will only have a limited supply of the vaccines, all recipients must register in advance.
Appointments will be prioritized for the first 100 eligible callers, who are 80 years old and over.
No walk-in vaccinations will be administered at SRMC's vaccine clinic on January 28.
Those interested in receiving the vaccine should call SRMC's Covid-19 vaccine registration line at 330-332-7511, for an appointment.
Callers must provide their name, phone number and birthdate to register.
Once the 100 vaccine appointments are filled, no more registration requests will be accepted for the vaccine clinic on January 28.
There is no charge to receive the Covid-19 vaccination.
The Moderna vaccine requires a second dose to be given approximately 28 days after the first dose.
More information will be provided at the SRMC Vaccine Clinic about scheduling the second dose.
Where To Go:
SRMC's Vaccine Clinic will be located on the ground floor of the Hospital, which is located at 1995 East State Street in Salem.
Those with scheduled appointments should enter the campus from East Pershing Street and park in the Surgery Center lot.
Participants should then enter the building through the Surgery Center entrance and will be asked to provide a government-issued ID upon arrival.
