WASHINGTON, D.C. - Valley Congressman Tim Ryan (OH-13) continued his call to help Delphi's salaried retirees get their pensions by speaking directly with President Joe Biden following his 'Help is Here' event at the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in Columbus Tuesday.

"I had the opportunity yesterday to have a private conversation with President Biden about the continued injustice that Delphi Salaried Retirees face. I advocated that the Delphi salaried retirees should be made whole and urged him to have his Administration work with us to restore their earned benefits. President Biden was familiar with the situation and told me he wants to help. I will continue working with my colleagues in Congress and with the White House on this issue," said Rep. Ryan.

In 2009, the PBGC terminated the pensions of the salaried employees of Delphi.

The salaried retirees suffered losses to their earned benefits.

After over a decade of lawsuits, salaried retirees are still left without their full pensions.

Prior to speaking with President Biden at the 'Help is Here' event, Ryan testified Tuesday morning on behalf of Delphi Salaried Retirees before the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.

This Committee has jurisdiction over all taxation, tariffs and other revenue-raising measures, as well as a number of other programs including Social Security, Pensions, Medicare and other social services programs.
