Healthy Hearts and Paws Project in Brookfield hosts Easter egg hunt for shelter dogs

Easter egg hunts are not just for children, four-legged friends enjoy them too.
The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project (HHPP) held an Easter egg hunt for the dogs at they care for Saturday.
HHPP volunteers hid over 500 doggie treats for the pups.
Volunteers walked the dogs around throughout the 40-acre property collecting the eggs that were placed near the dog treats.
"This gives the dogs some added enrichment time and activity and make people aware that we have a lot of dogs looking for their forever homes. More often than not, many of the people that come out fall in love with one of our dogs," said Jason Cooke, President of the Healthy Hearts and Paws Project.
The event runs until 2 p.m. and the winner will be featured on the HHPP Facebook page.
The Health Hearts and Paws Project is hosting another fundraiser event Sunday, April 11, an overloaded waffle breakfast and basket raffle, at Tiffany Banquet Center at 8 a.m.
