$71 million in ODOT road projects planned for Mahoning, Trumbull counties this year

The Ohio Department of Transportation has unveiled the hundreds of projects planned for this year across Northeast Ohio.
Of these projects, $42 million will be for road projects in Mahoning County, while $29 million will be used for road projects in Trumbull County.
The 274 active projects are worth a total of $1.5 billion across the state. The 186 new projects planned for this year are worth $679 million.
In District Four, which covers both Mahoning and Trumbull counties, there are 71 new projects expected in 2021 which totals $401 million.

In Mahoning County specifically, the $42.4 million in projects will include the $29.4 million in already active projects and $13 million in upcoming projects.
This includes the resurfacing of State Route 7 between S.R. 164 and S.R. 170/Midlothian Boulevard and the resurfacing of U.S. 224 between the Shops of Boardman and I-680.

Ave., the removal of the I-680 bridge over an embankment and miscellaneous repairs to ten other bridges.
Project also includes installation of cable median rail between North Meridian Rd. and Belle Vista Ave. Work
completed in 2020 included the reconstruction of the I-680 southbound bridge over Cherry Hill and the I-680
southbound bridge over the railroad. Work to be completed in 2021 includes bridge painting and the placement

In Trumbull County specifically, the $29 million in projects will include the $19.8 million in already active projects and $9.2 million in upcoming projects.
This includes the resurfacing of State Route 11 from just north of S.R. 5 to the Ashtabula County line, the resurfacing of I-80 from Bell Wick Road to the Pennsylvania state line and the resurfacing of S.R. 82 between U.S. 62 and S.R. 193.
