Howland Police say man used power saw to open laundromat change machine

HOWLAND TWP., Ohio - Howland Police have made two arrests in connection with the theft of nearly $800 from a change machine at a laundromat.
Responding to an alarm at the Mayfair Laundromat on East Market Street early Thursday, police found that someone had cut the hinges from the change machine.
Police looking at surveillance video spotted a man wearing an orange face covering leaving the business and walking towards the Capri Motel.
Inside one of the rooms police found a Vienna couple, Joseph Lewis and Jessica Davis along with a power saw, $781 in bills, and $17.25 in quarters. Both were booked into the county jail.
Lewis, 41, of Vienna, pleaded not guilty Friday to charges of breaking and entering, possessing criminal tools, and tampering with coin machines.
Also pleading not guilty to a charge of complicity was 37-year-old Davis.
Both suspects have future court hearings scheduled.
