Woman facing charges after Poland Twp. crash that sent boat off trailer

POLAND TWP., Ohio - Two crashes early Sunday morning sent a car into a guard rail and a boat flying off a trailer in Poland Township.
The crashes happened around 3:30 AM on Route 224 near Quarry Road.
The first crash came when 34-year-old Melissa Michael of New Castle hit a guardrail with her vehicle.
A truck hauling a boat then crashed into her car, ejecting that boat from the trailer into a nearby field.
State Troopers say Michael has been charged with OVI and failure to control stemming from the incident.
That stretch of road had to be shut down for some time while crews brought in a special vehicle with a crane to remove the watercraft.
The Canfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol tells 21 News that those involved in the accident suffered only minor injuries.
