Witnesses told dispatchers that the Jeep sheared a utility pole, blocking Mahoning Avenue between Champion Street and Route 305 just before 9 a.m. Tuesday.
A fallen live wire left one person trapped in the Jeep. First responders had to wait until a FirstEnergy crew could cut the power before rescuing the victim.

As of 11 a.m. Ohio Edison reported that power was out to fewer than five customers in the area.
