COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohioans will learn more Monday about how they can be eligible to win a $1 million lottery prize or college tuition by receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Lottery Commission will hold a media briefing videoconference at 11 a.m. Monday to release the official terms, conditions, and eligibility information regarding the five weekly Ohio Vax-a-Million drawings.

Ohioans 18 and older who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine are eligible for drawings with a prize of $1 million.

Those aged 12-17 who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can enter to win a four-year, full-ride scholarship including room and board, tuition, and books, to any Ohio state college or university.

The pool of names for the "Ohio Vax-a-Million" drawing will be derived from the Ohio Secretary of State's publicly available voter registration database. Additionally, a webpage will be available to register.

A total of five weekly drawings for each prize will take place, with the first winners being announced May 26th. Winners must have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by the date of the respective drawing.

The drawings will be administered by the Ohio Department of Health, with technical assistance from the Ohio Lottery Commission, and will be funded through existing allocations to the Ohio Department of Health of unexpended coronavirus relief funds.
