A motorcyclist is spending part of Memorial Day in the hospital after being struck by an unlikely object near a state park in Lawrence County.
The accident happened on Route 422 near the entrance of McConnells Mill State Park around 2 p.m.
Witnesses on the scene said the canoe broke loose off of a Jeep, flew into the air and came into the path of the rider who was behind them.
The rider allegedly tried to swerve out of the way but was struck.
They were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No one else was injured.
Pennsylvania State Police said they are filing charges of failing to properly secure a load toward the driver of the Jeep.
