HOWLAND, Ohio - A popular Howland restaurant closed since a fire in mid-April has set a date to reopen.

The Chophouse announced on its Facebook that the restaurant will be reopening Monday, August 2.

The restaurant initially planned for a mid-July opening but renovations took a bit longer than expected.

The Chophouse on E. Market Street experienced a small electrical fire on April 19 in the kitchen area.

The kitchen and dining room suffered heavy smoke damage during the fire.

No one was injured.
