CANFIELD, Ohio - Drivers who travel a busy stretch of highway in Canfield can expect three months of lane restrictions and closures beginning Monday, July 26, 2021.

City Manager Wade Calhoun has announced that a 12-week sewer replacement project is scheduled to begin next week along a half-mile-long section of Route 224.

The improvements will include the upsizing of a 12-inch sanitary sewer line to an 18-inch sanitary sewer line and the resurfacing of a portion of State Route 224.

The project will require lane restrictions and street closures that will impact traffic patterns in the area of Route 224 between the Mill Creek Metroparks Bike Trail and the Hunter’s Woods Condo development.

The work will take place during the hours of 6 am - 6 pm. During street closures only local traffic will have access to their properties, all other traffic will be re-routed.

The detour will be Railroad St., to Route 62 to Route 446.
