OVI checkpoints planned this weekend in Mahoning Co.

CANFIELD, Ohio - The Mahoning County OVI Task Force is cracking down on impaired drivers this weekend.
Multiple OVI checkpoints are being planned for Mahoning County on Saturday, July 24, and Sunday, July 25.
The locations and specific times of the checkpoints will be released Saturday evening.
Saturation patrols will also be on the road this week and weekend.
In 1990 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that holding sobriety checkpoints without first notifying drivers would violate the Constitution's provision barring illegal search and seizure.
In their ruling, however, the justices did not spell out what they considered to be an adequate notification.
That same year, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration published recommended procedures for OVI checkpoints which included notifying the media of the planned roadblocks.
