Public hearing to discuss Central Waste Landfill corrective measures plan

Ohio's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold a public meeting Tuesday, Aug. 31 at 3:30 p.m. at the Ohio EPA Northeast District Office.
The meeting will be in person with a virtual option as well. It will discuss potential corrective measures plan to address impacts to groundwater at the Central Waste Inc.
EPA staff will respond to questions during the meeting and are accepting verbal or written testimonies from citizens. Written comments will be accepted until Tuesday, Sept. 7.
Central Waste Landfill is a 42-acre facility that is no longer accepting waste and is in the process of completing closure activities.
If the plan is approved, groundwater samples would be collected and analyzed as part of the corrective measures.
