Bill Bohren wins 300th game as head coach in 50th season

Mathews' head football coach and Valley legend Bill Bohren has earned his 300th win as a head football coach following a 36-0 Mustangs win over Ashtabula St. John Saturday afternoon.
Bohren, who is 87 years young entered the season sitting on 295 career wins as a head football coach. 2021 is Bohren's 50th as a head coach and 56th in high school football overall.
Prior to joining the Mustangs, Bohren has been a head coach at 10 other high schools including; Ottawa-Glandorf, Steubenville, Portsmouth, Lakeview, Boardman, Butler (PA), Salem, Niles, LaBrae, Chalker and Mathews.
Mathews improves to 5-2 on the season, and has won three straight games, scoring at least 36 points in all three contests.
