Mercer County, Pa. - The Community Food Warehouse in Mercer County is holding its second Mobile Pantry food distribution Friday, October 15 at 11a.m. until 1p.m.

The food distribution will be held at Charleston Methodist Church, 1169 Greendfield Road in hermitage, and will include meat, produce and shelf stable products.

The Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County was able to start the Mobile Pantry program this past summer due to a donation through Feeding America.

The program was initiated to reach food insecure individuals who may not have easy access to an established food pantry or feeding site.

"We have developed a tremendous partnership with Charleston United Methodist Church, who opens their facility to us once a month to host the Mobile Pantry program, which is currently a drive-through style distribution," said Rebecca Page, executive director, Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County.

Community Food Warehouse is hoping to expand in 2022, and has provided food to over 30 member agencies, which provides food to more than 4,200 households in Mercer County.

Information and updates on distributions will be posted on the organization's Facebook page.
