The family and friends of Rowan Sweeney have partnered with Boardman Township Park to give a location to the playground that will memorialize Sweeney and give community members of all ages a place to gather.
Rowan's Memorial Park is designed for anyone ages 2 to 92 and will feature a tower that is inclusive to anyone who uses mobility devices and even includes safety turf to accommodate those individuals.
The project is estimated to cost around $300,000 with $100,000 being raised so far. Sweeney's family and friends said fundraising efforts are continuing and they want more people to be involved by sharing, volunteering, donating and supporting their events.

Sweeney was fatally shot during a robbery at a Struthers home in September 2020. He was 4-years-old.
