YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -  Youngstown Deputy Director of Public Works announced on Monday that Front St. will be closing to westbound traffic between Vindicator Square and Market St. beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 1

Later in the winter, the project is expected to move near the Covelli Centre closing the portion between South Ave. and Market St. New lighting, drainage, and streetscape items will be added.

The construction is expected to continue until October of 2022. Relevant detours will be posted. Traffic patterns are expected to change. 

Eastbound traffic will not be affected by this closure. Access to driveways will be maintained. 

This project is tied to the new SMART2 renovation, which saw Fifth Ave. get a new update and Phelps St. is nearing the end of its renovations.
